Teddy
Demarest
holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction
with an emphasis in Reading Instruction from Texas A&M University.
She is certified in the state of New Mexico both as an elementary
and secondary classroom teacher, and holds a level 3A Master
Teacher certification. She is endorsed as a Reading Specialist,
Language Arts teacher, and a Social Studies teacher.
During
her twenty six years of experience in education, Teddy has
served as an elementary classroom teacher, a mid-school Language
Arts teacher, and a Title I resource teacher. She has also
been a Literacy coordinator for District Title I School-wide
Projects and a Reading / Literacy consultant for the New
Mexico Public Education Department as well as school districts
and schools in the five state region of the Southwest.
Teddy serves
as a consultant to Apex on reading and literacy. In this capacity,
she produced the literature review on Scientifically Based
Reading Research for the Public Education Department's Reading
and Literacy in New Mexico document. She is an advisor
to the PD2000 project.
